ZOOM AWARDS 2013
Launched in 2010, these two awards were created to support and promote the profession of photographer, and raise awareness of the difficulties involved in exercising it. As a key event for photography enthusiasts, The Salon de la Photo is eager to ensure that the ZOOM Awards have as much impact as possible and to serve the cause of photography, in particular professional photography. On 1 October 2013 the results of the 2013 ZOOM Awards were announced, paying tribute to two professional photographers, one selected by the photography press, the other by the general public.
2013 ZOOM AWARDS JURY
The jury was chaired by the famous fashion photographer Peter Knapp, who was art director of ELLE magazine in the 1960s and 1970s. He also made the TV programme Dim Dam Dom, and is a painter and teacher.
PHOTO PRESS ZOOM
9 chief editors of photography magazines each selected an emerging professional photographer (French or living in France). By making this selection the sponsors express their admiration for a little recognised talent that they are eager for the general public to discover.
PUBLIC ZOOM
Public voting took place on the Salon de la Photo Website: nominees were presented on 14 June, with 5 photos each, biographical notes, and praise from their respective sponsors.
